Large university in England. In education facilities fire doors are subject to heavy traffic and fire doors have a torrid time often being subject to repeated misuse. IMS are FIRAS certified for fire doors and upon completion of remedial work IMS will provide documentation to aiding in creating a history database and an updated asset register for future on-going inspections / maintenance. IMS protective work for the university will cover as a minimum the following:
- Intumescent door strip and smoke seals
- Door frames including stability of fixings
- Door closer and runners
- Hinges
- Glazing (vision panels)
- Ironmongery – Locks and levers/handles
- Door hold open devices
- Gaps around the doors and thresholds
- Safety Signage for Fire
