In this post we look at the legal requirements of fire rated doorsets and results of failed maintenance can effect the efficiency of the doorsets jeopardising lives unnecessarily.

It is the legal responsibility of every landlord or appointed FM company to ensure that all fire doors are inspected on a regular basis and serviced annually. Installation, maintenance and testing must be in accordance with BS 476: Part 22: 1987 (British Standard). Any defects found must be actioned immediately .
